ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Three homes in St. Louis had bullets shot into them while the residents were sound asleep early Monday morning.
The first shooting happened in the 1500 block of Cochran around 2:30 a.m. A short time later, police say bullets were fired into an apartment unit in the 1700 block of Preservation. The bullet then traveled through a wall, and lodged into a neighboring apartment's bedroom wall.
Nikisha Outlaw said she woke up just moments before bullets peppered her apartment. A bullet came through her downstairs window, and another penetrated the siding and traveled through her children's bedroom.
"I was coming in the hallway to get them to tell them to get on the floor, because they sounded so close, and that's when i saw...my son hollering...he's hollering...and i said, 'Were you hit?' And he said, 'No, the bullets are flying through my wall,'" Outlaw said.
The bullet continued into her neighbor's apartment, and lodged into the woman's bedroom wall.
Outlaw said she requested the property manager move her to another apartment, and the company has agreed.
No one was injured in the incidents. According to police, no connection has been established, aside from the similarity of the two shootings.
A police investigation into the shootings is ongoing.
