(KMOV.com) -- The Illinois Board of Education has voted to shut down a Metro-East charter school.

The Board of Education voted Thursday to deny certification for the Tomorrows Builders Youth Build Charter School.

An East St. Louis School District administrator told News 4 the school will be allowed to operate for the remainder of the school year.

The district said it plans to soon begin meeting with parents and students.
