(KMOV) -- Arnold police say someone called a restaurant posing as an Ameren representative, and tricked the establishment out of $1,000.

It was reported that a scammer called "La Pachanga" restaurant and told the manager the restaurant’s bill was late and demanded immediate payment.

Management bought a Green Dot Money Card and used it to pay the scammer.

Ameren has gone on record saying that if they request a payment, they will never ask a customer to pay immediately.
