(KMOV) – Alton Police have taken in more than 20 pounds of marijuana, crack and powered cocaine in the last two weeks after receiving several community tips.

Officers were also able to remove seven guns from the streets after police say neighbors called in with tips to help clean up the neighborhood.

Seven suspects were arrested and more than $85,000 in cash, cars and electronics were seized.

Alton Police Chief said the department couldn’t have done it would the public’s help.

“Don’t believe in a second a few people can’t make a difference in this community... for its a few people that make a difference every day...without these people’s support...without these people coming to our community service meetings these problems can’t be resolved,” Chief Jake Simmons said.

Simmons said there are still two suspects they’re looking for, Keith Smith and Antwon Jackson.

Police say Smith took off before officers could catch him but they found nearly $70,000 in cash at his home.
