ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) –- Lake St. Louis police say they finally have the six people in custody who were involved in a police chase.
Investigators say all six were involved in a theft ring aimed to steal clothing from the high end department store Von Maur.
Police said the suspects assaulted a store employee and took off in two vehicles last Friday. The chase ended after a they crashed in St. Louis County.
Two suspects were caught after that chase that ended along Highway 40 at Mason Road. Police said one suspect ran out of his stolen car and tried to carjack another motorist. Officers used a Taser to stop the suspect, then took him into custody.
Police say four others were caught outside the Von Maur store in Lake St Louis, after they were spotted by a security guard. According to police, a car carrying three suspects collided with a patrol car in the parking lot. No one was hurt.
Police Chief Michael Force says he believes the group is behind two separate thefts at the Victoria’s Secret store and one at the Nike Store in Lake St Louis.
Currently, Alkeisha Weatherford, Chaquita Bartee, Adrianna Gibson, Tianna Slayton, Norris Douglas and Calvin Barnes are charged with felony stealing, strong armed robbery, assaulting a law enforcement officer, assault and property damage.
Chief Force, said police in St. Peters and Chesterfield are also interested in the suspects for similar crimes.
