(KMOV) – Employees of the Sunset Hills MERS Goodwill are looking for the person who dropped off $5,000 in a donation box this week.

An employee of the Goodwill store in the 10000 block of Watson Rd. found the massive donation while sifting through the donation box on Thursday.

Store employees reviewed surveillance video and determined the donation must have been made on Wednesday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

If the money is not claimed within 30 days, it will go towards MERS Goodwill’s community programs.

It’s not the first time a local Goodwill store has been given a massive mysterious donation.

In May, the manager of the Goodwill store in the 10,000 block of Baptist Church Road found over $14,000 in a donation box. A St. Louis County judge later ruled that the $14,505 discovered should go to Renee Stout of Webster Groves, who said the money came from her parents’ home in Columbia, Ill.
