ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. (KMOV)—  Two Washington Park teens have been charged with criminal sexual assault after allegedly raping three young girls in Washington Park and Cahokia, Illinois.

The St. Clair County State’s Attorney on Friday charged Demarkus Kidd,16, and Deshaune Porter, 15, with five counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault against three young family members.

The victims ages were 5, 6 and 12 years old, according to police.

Police learned of the abuse after a mother of one of the victims called police.  The chief says the abuse happened while the teens babysat the young victims.  Other times, he says, parents were home when the attacks were happening but apparently did not know.

Washington Park Police say they are aware of four additional victims and believe there could be even more.

Investigators say the victims are siblings and cousins of the suspects. They believe the abuse took place between July 11 and July 26, 2012.

Washington Park Police Chief David Clark says the teens confessed to their crimes, but the investigation is far from over.  Chief Clark says the teens also lived in unincorporated St. Clair County, near Cahokia where police think there could be more victims than the seven they already know about.

"We found these acts to be horrific in itself, but just to see that it's children involved hurts you to even have to do the investigation," Chief Clark said.  "It gets you teary eyed just thinking about it and talking about it.  It's a bad situation, and I'm glad it's come to a close."

Kidd and Porter are being prosecuted as adults under Illinois Law and could face up to 30 years in an Illinois state prison.

The suspects are currently being held at the St. Clair County Detention Center.  Bond for each defendant was set at $750,000.

Investigators believe there are several more victims in this case and urge anyone having information regarding this case or other victims please contact Detective Juan McCoy of the Washington Park Police Department at 618-874-0115.
