(KMOV.com) -- Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred in front of Frohardt School in Granite City.

According to police, a white GMC Jimmy or Chevy Blazer collided with mini-van around 2:45 p.m. Saturday in front of the school. A mother and two children were injured in the accident.

Witnesses told police that the white vehicle fled the scene going westbound on Edwardsville Road. Reports indicate that the white vehicle, driven by a man in his 20s, incurred noticeable front end damage.

Details on the extent of the victims' injures was not made available.
