(KMOV) – Two sisters who attended Eureka High School and a Marquette High School graduate were killed when a convertible slammed into a deck and a tree in the St. Louis County town of Wildwood late Thursday night.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Homestead Manor Dr. and Rieger Rd. just before 10 p.m.
Officials said a man and three women were in a convertible with the top down going at a high rate of speed when it left the road and struck the deck of a nearby home.
Authorities said the car went through the deck, which had concrete pillars on it, and went down a wooded hill about 120 yards before hitting a tree.
Authorities say the driver, 18-year-old Christopher Lenzen, and a female passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Another woman died in a helicopter en route to a hospital. The women were later identified as Lauren Oliver, 18, and Kathleen Oliver, 17.
The third woman, 18-year-old Olivia Dames, suffered minor injuries.
According to officials, Lenzen graduated from Marquette High School earlier this year. Lauren Oliver graduated from Eureka High School in May. Her sister was a still a student there.
Dames is also a Eureka High graduated.
Two people were sitting on the deck patio when the wreck happened but they were not hurt.
An investigation continues into the cause of the wreck. Names have not been released.
