WRIGHT CITY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A 20-year-old Wright City, Missouri man faces child abuse charges after police said  he broke his 2-month-old baby's leg.

Police said they were called to the home of 20-year-old Kyle Terney, in the 200 block of Trotters Point Drive in Wright City on August 19, on a report of an injured child.  Paramedics transported the baby to St. Louis Children's Hospital after discovering bruising on the left side of the baby's face.

A doctor reported the baby had a fractured right femur and bruising to the left side of the face and to his collarbone.

Police say Terney may have gotten frustrated with his baby's crying when the alleged abuse happened.  Terney, however, said the baby's injuries resulted from a fall while she was unsupervised.

The baby was released from the hospital on August 21.
