(KMOV) – Police have arrested a person of interest wanted in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Chesterfield on Feb. 12.
Authorities say 54-year-old Yelena Pelts, of Chesterfield, was in custody Tuesday.
The arrest comes nearly a week after 41-year-old Roy Joseph was struck while walking along Olive Blvd. just west of River Valley Dr. His body was found lying in snow around 7 a.m. that morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Physical evidence at the scene and subsequent investigation led detectives to a 2004 Pearl white Toyota Sienna mini-van owned by Pelts.
Charges against Pelts have yet to be filed and additional details surrounding her arrest were not immediately available.
