(KMOV.com) – A Walmart employee allegedly stole a customer’s credit card and passed it around to other employees to use.

Police said the incident took place at the south St. Louis County store, and the credit card was found in the store’s parking lot. One of the employees found the credit card and turned it in to a cashier as a lost item. But things took a turn when that cashier gave it to another employee.

Ricky Brent, 27, and another employee allegedly used the card for several purchases at the Walmart store on Telegraph.

“[He] should hand it to the manager. That is what [he] should have done,” said a shopper.

Police said Brent took the full responsibility and is the only employee charged. He could face seven years in prison for theft.
