Godfrey, Il. (KMOV.com) – Police have arrested two women after they allegedly tried to sell back items they had stolen at a Walmart store in Godfrey, Illinois.

Walmart Loss Prevention staff alerted authorities to Stacy Ann Lindley, 30, and Brittany Rose Knox, 26, who were caught removing items from shelves and returning the items to the store in order to get a gift card.

After obtaining the gift card, both suspects left the store, but were stopped by police. After an investigation, authorities discovered the gift card had a value of $438.

Authorities arrested Lindley and Knox and transported the suspects to the Madison County Jail. Both have been charged with two felony counts because Lindley and Knox had been previously convicted of theft in Madison County Circuit Court.

Knox was also charged with a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass to property because she had previously been banned from the same Walmart she had just robbed.

Bond is set for both suspects at $30,000.
