Police: Two men targeted victim in Belleville armed robbery

BELLEVILLE (KMOV.com) – Two men have been charged in connection to an alleged armed robbery that occurred on Friday afternoon.

Police say George E. Lacey and Joseph C. Harris, both of Belleville, someone in 200 block of North 12th Street close to 12:30 p.m. Authorities say the two knew the victim and planned the robbery.

Officers say they arrived at the crime scene and attempted to track down Lacey and Harris who were driving a gray Chevy Impala with dark tinted windows. Police later caught up to them near the intersection of East Main Street and Grand Avenue, where they arrested the two suspects.

Lacey and Harris are both charged with one count of armed robbery. Bail has been set for each of them at $100,000 each.
