FLORISSANT, Mo (KMOV.com) -- A traffic sting over the weekend in Florissant turned up two arrests that had even seasoned officers shocked.
Joseph Trupiano and Owen Tross, Jr. were both charged with DWI. But this is wasn't their first offense, or their second, or even their fifth. In fact, it was Tross’ 12th offense and Trupiano’s 7th.
News 4 went to Florissant to inquire how these men are still allowed to be on the road.
“The police departments are doing their jobs, their presenting to the prosecuting attorney’s office,” said Andy Haarmann with the Florissant Police Department. “The prosecutors are charging these people, the judges are doing what they can, it’s just unfortunately the laws- maybe they’re just not strict enough.”
Trupiano is being held on a $50,000 bond and Tross on a $75,000 bond.
