Troy: Young woman pleads guilty to meth charges

St. Louis, MO: Rachel Nichol Burns pleaded guilty to methamphetamine conspiracy charges, Acting United States Attorney Michael W. Reap announced today.

Burns, 20, Troy, MO, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one felony count of conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine before United States District Judge Jean C. Hamilton. Sentencing has been set for March 3, 2010.

The following co-defendants have previously entered guilty pleas and await sentencing:

Holly L. Heck, 23, Bowling Green, MO, plead Friday, November 6;

Orlando Anthony Grimmett, 33, Bowling Green, MO; Brandon Cory Smith, 24, Bowling Green, MO; Samantha Heck, 21, Bowling Green, MO; pleaded guilty November 5.  Each defendant plead guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to possess pseudoephedrine knowing that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine before United States District Judge Jean C. Hamilton. Sentencings have been set for February 2 for Heck, others are January 29, 2010.

Each defendant faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000. 

Reap commended the work on the case by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Troy, MO and the Hannibal, MO Police Departments, and the Lincoln County Narcotics Enforcement Team.
