ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – A St. Louis man was sentenced to 24 years in prison Wednesday for his involvement in the 2010 murder of a Wentzville man.
Ron Rico Patton, 18, told authorities he fired the shot that killed 23-year-old Daniel Brennan during what authorities later said was a trick to sell him heroin at a St. Charles County apartment complex.
Patton pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.
Circuit Judge Ted House went along with prosecutors who recommended a 24-year sentence in exchange for Patton’s guilty plea. He will have to serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Patton was the third person convicted in Brennan’s death.
Jefferey Lottie, 24, was sentenced to life in prison in September after he was found guilty of murder. Harvion Cameron, 23, pleaded guilty of second-degree murder in 2011. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
