(KMOV.com) – A rash of car break-ins ended with a west St. Louis County resident finding his stolen item for sale online.
After his vehicle was broken into on September 22, the victim saw a posting on Craigslist for a similar radar detector taken from his vehicle. He arranged to meet the seller, Michael Perez, 18, and alerted St. Louis County Police.
Authorities determined the item for sale matched the one stolen from the victim. Multiple stolen items from other crimes were later found at Perez’s residence, including Raybans, a tool set, a gift card, an iPad, a wallet, a hood ornament and a security camera.
Perez faces 10 criminal counts, including five felonies.
