Teen faces multiple charges after 50-year-old shot to death

Darius Smith, 17, has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting death of a 50-year-old north St. Louis man.

ST. LOUIS—Police arrested a 17-year-old man on Wednesday in connection to the murder of a 50-year-old man on May 25.

Darrius Smith has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of James Johnson

According to investigators, Smith was arguing with Johnson at a house in the 4200 block of Randall Place when he shot the man in the chest.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A judge set Smith’s bond at $400,000.
