ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A suspect has been charged with killing a man who was found dead in north St. Louis earlier this month.
Thomas Brooks, 26, was charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a weapon in the death of Javon Durham.
According to documents, Durham made arrangements to buy over 35 grams of marijuana from an unknown source in the 4500 block of Alice on May 19.
Police said Durham entered a vehicle to buy the drugs and was immediately shot by Brooks in the chest and back.
An investigation led police to Brooks, who was arrested on Tuesday and remains in custody.
