PAGEDALE, Mo. (KMOV) – A man charged in accident that killed one boy and seriously injured his brother as the victims walked to a convenience store in Pagedale has a history of impaired driving.

According to court records, before being charged Monday with leaving the scene of an accident, 54-year-old Ricky Weeden had been convicted of driving while intoxicated at least five times.

Investigators say 4-year-old Trayeshon Williams died at the scene of the accident Friday after a pickup truck hit him and his 10-year-old brother as they were crossing St. Charles Rock Road to go to a convenience store. Trayeshon’s brother, Jayshard Conner, is at Children’s Hospital with multiple broken bones.

Weeden remains in jail. Online court records don’t show whether he has an attorney, and he does not have a listed home telephone number.

Police said Weeden was caught after a tipster told authorities Friday night she may know the driver of the truck.

Authorities said they ran Weeden’s name and visited the address in his file. That’s where they found a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado.

Police said they showed the truck to a person who witnessed fatal wreck. The witness confirmed the Silverado was the one they had seen drive off from the initial scene.

Authorities said they expected more charges to be filed in the case.

Associated Press contributed to this report.
