ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A man has been charged in the murder of a woman found dead in a condominium after a two-alarm fire on October 11.

Hosie Taylor, 36, was arrested earlier this week and charged with one count of first degree murder on Wednesday.
Authorities said 51-year-old Deirdre Exum, a former St. Louis County police employee, was found dead in the first floor of a condominium on the 6600 block of Chesapeake around 4 p.m. Friday.

A police investigation revealed that the victim had died from blunt force trauma. Investigators say Exum was murdered prior to the start of the fire

Police said an investigation led them to Taylor, who remains in custody.

Exum had worked for the St. Louis County Police as armed security at police headquarters since 2008.

Taylor’s bond has been set at $1,000,000 cash-only.
