St. Louis teen accused of accidentally shooting own brother

(KMOV.com) – A St. Louis teen has been arrested for accidentally shooting his brother with an illegal gun.

Police said William Pearson, 17, shot his 14-year-old brother in the leg at their home on Beacon Avenue. Authorities allege the gun accidentally fired while Pearson was handling the gun. Authorities said Pearson bought the gun the off the street without a permit. 

Police told News 4 Pearson also lied to them when they asked him how his brother was shot. According to police, Pearson initially told them his brother was the victim of a drive by shooting, but then admitted to being the culprit.
