ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A suburban St. Louis business executive has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for stealing nearly $6 million from his former company.
Dunard Morris of St. Charles, Mo., pleaded guilty to wire fraud and mail fraud in September. He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis.
Morris was in charge of business and financial operations for Chesterfield-based Metropolitan Urological Specialists. Federal prosecutors say he embezzled millions of dollars and concealed the crime through a series of lies, misrepresentations and deceits.
Morris used the company's money to purchase luxury autos, expensive guns, high-end jewelry and to travel internationally.
In addition to the prison time, Morris must repay $5.6 million to the company.
