(KMOV.com) -- Louis Johnson II, 18, was charged Thursday with first-degree robbery by the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

On Wednesday afternoon, St. Charles police responded to a call from a victim who had just been robbed in a parking lot located in the 1400 block of Lakeshore.

According to authorities, the victim was waiting near her disabled vehicle when Johnson approached her and asked to borrow her phone to call a family member.

After handing Johnson the phone, the victim said Johnson then put his hand in the pocket of his hoodie implying he had a weapon and demanded her wallet.

The victim then handed over her wallet and Johnson fled the area on foot.

Following a broadcast of the suspect’s description, a responding officer in the immediate area was able to locate Johnson.

According to authorities, the officer found two cell phones on Johnson during a routine pat-down.

The victim’s phone matched one of the two recovered phones.  However, the wallet was not located.

Johnson is being held at the St. Charles City holding cell awaiting transfer to the St. Charles County detention Center.

Bond for Johnson was set at $35,000 cash-only.
