(KMOV.com)  -- Police have two suspects in custody following the assault of a woman with an ice pick in her south St. Louis home.

Police arrested the suspects, Antwon Stewart, 22, and Tracy Bradford, 29, in connection to the attack in the 3100 block of Minnesota on Thursday.

It was reported that the victim heard a window shatter and attempted to flee her home but was forced back inside by the suspects.

One of the suspects began punching her, while the other attempted to stab her in the chest with an ice pick. Both suspects then fled the home.

The victim told police she was assaulted because the father of her child owed the suspects money.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
