SLU student, 16-year-old arrested in separate South County car break-ins

(KMOV) – A Saint Louis University student was arrested after he allegedly broke into multiple vehicles in south St. Louis County early Thursday morning.

According to police, the 27-year-old man was caught breaking into three vehicles near the intersection of Orient and Wachtel around 1:20 a.m.

Police responded to the scene and took the man into custody.

A 16-year-old boy was also arrested for separate car break-ins in the 500 block of Clayridge, located near Interstate 55 and Butler Hill. Police said he cut his arm while trying to flee police and was quickly apprehended. 

He was taken to the hospital for treatment in police custody.
