ST. LOUIS (KMOV) — Authorities are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a person who fatally shot a 14-year-old girl in the head in south St. Louis in June.

Authorities said Corniesha Smith was walking in the 3900 block of Dunnica on June 10 when she was shot in the head.

Smith was taken to an area hospital, where she later died.

Witnesses say they had heard gunshots earlier in the day following a fight in the park. The victim’s friend, Teauna Willis, said she was only steps away when her friend was shot.

“They started shooting at us and when she fell she didn’t get back up,” Willis said. “I saw the lights from the gun flashing.”

Crimestoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest of a suspect. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 866-371-8477.
