(KMOV.com) – A phallic symbol followed by an obscene word was painted on a St. Louis County home, and neighbors want something done about it.

Neighbors are calling the graffiti on a home on Windfield Avenue offensive and obscene.

“It takes the neighborhood down. We try to take care of the neighborhood very well around here,” said resident Rick Salisbury.

The rental property which was defaced is currently vacant, and a neighbor just noticed it late last week. Frustrated having to look at the defaced house, she had her son purchase white spray paint to cover the obscenity.

The St. Louis County’s Dept. of Public Works said the neighbors notified them of the problem Tuesday. They will be there Wednesday to cover up the disturbing symbol.
