(KMOV) – Authorities are investigating after a parent said his 8th-grade daughter was taken advantage of at a Fort Zumwalt middle school in St. Peters.

The parent told News 4 the Dubray Middle School student was dragged into a restroom stall and raped during school hours on Tuesday.

Fort Zumwalt School District Superintendent Bernard Dubray say the district and St. Peters police are investigating the allegations.

“I’m shocked anything like that would happen at one of our schools. I don’t think we have a clear picture of what took place so the investigation is ongoing at this point,” said Dubray.

Authorities could not give more details since both parties are minors.

“The rest of this week and may be next week for us to really identify what’s taken place and decide how we proceed from here,” said Dubray.

On Thursday, Dubray Middle School Principal Michael Anderson sent a letter home to parents acknowledging the investigation.

“As part of our efforts at increased security, we are installing surveillance cameras that will help us with supervision in the halls in the future,” wrote Anderson. “We believe this to be an isolated incident, not a pattern of behavior at DuBray Middle School.”

Dubray says more information will be revealed once the investigation is wrapped up.
