(KMOV.com) – Authorities say one man is in custody and two are on the loose after they allegedly robbed a woman in front of her apartment building in University City Friday night.

Pierce Johnson, 25, has been charged with second-degree robbery and theft of a motor vehicle in the case.

Police say Johnson and two other men approached a woman as she was walking in front of her apartment building at the intersection of Limit and Enright.

Authorities say one of the men grabbed her arm and the other two grabbed her purse. The suspects then drove away in her car.

An officer said he spotted an abandoned car near where the incident occurred and saw Johnson, who matched a description for one of the suspects, walking nearby.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident. The other two suspects remain at large.

According to police, the victim’s purse and phone have not been recovered.
