ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – Police are searching for two male suspects following an early-morning home invasion and shooting in South St. Louis.

Police were called to the home in the 3100 block of Oregon around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police said two men broke into one apartment of a four family flat.  At that point, gunfire was exchanged between the homeowner and suspects.

When police arrived, blood was found on the floor of the apartment, but the source of that blood is not known.  One of the suspects could have been struck by a bullet, or the family's dog may have been shot. The dog took off running and has not been found.
