Police search for suspects after shots allegedly fired at officers in north city

(KMOV.com) -- Police in north city are searching for two men after shots were allegedly fired at officers early Friday morning.

St. Louis police say a Pine Lawn officer began to pursue a vehicle in Pine Lawn, which continued into the city at 3:10 a.m.

Police say when the Pine Lawn officer attempted to stop a car, a suspect fired two shots from the passenger window in the area of Natural Bridge and Goodfellow. St. Louis police say they had officers in the area of Academy and Clarendon at the time of the incident. When the shots were fired, St. Louis Police officers traveled in the direction of the gunshots and observed Pine Lawn Police pursuing the suspects’ vehicle.

The suspects stopped their vehicle in the 5200 block of Delmar, where they exited the vehicle and fled south at Delmar and Lake.

Police describe the suspects as black males. They say one of the suspects was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans. Police say the other suspect was last seeing wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
