Police search for suspect in an attempted armed robbery at BP gas station

(KMOV) – Police were called to the scene of an attempted armed robbery at a BP gas station on Tesson Ferry around midnight. 

The store clerk, a Chaplin with the St. Louis Police Department, told News 4 the suspect is a white male in his 20s who walked into the gas station with his t-shirt over his face. 

The suspect pointed a gun at a customer and then at the clerk.  The clerk said the customer than ran. The Chaplin then pulled the suspect’s shirt off of his face so he could identify him. 

According to the clerk, the suspect demanded money but the cash register was jammed. The Chaplin pulled out a gun and fired a warning shot, the suspect then fled. 

Police are currently still searching for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing
