Police: Gunman shoots teen in hands after robbery in St. Louis

(KMOV.com) – Police are searching for a suspect after a man suffered gunshot wounds on both of his hands following an armed robbery in north St. Louis on Sunday.

Police say that the 18-year-old victim was walking south on Thrush towards Lillian when he was approached by an unknown suspect at 11:45 p.m.

According to police, the suspect showed a firearm and demanded that the victim give him everything he had.  Once the victim handed the suspect his belongings, the suspect shot him in both hands.

The victim fled the scene to an area hospital before calling police.

Police described the suspect as a black male, between 21 and 22 years old, 6 ft. 1 in. tall, between 170 and 180 lbs. The suspect was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap and a red Cardinals jacket. 

The investigation is ongoing.
