(KMOV.com) – Police are searching for whomever vandalized garage doors on two homes and left behind explosives in south St. Louis County.

Police said two phallic symbols, a swastika and the word Nazi were spray painted on two homes on Southern Aire Drive.

According to police, whoever spray painted the homes also covered cars in saran wrap and left an explosive device in a two liter bottle of soda at one of the homes.

"It’s kind of disturbing this would happen. The message. The intent," said victim Michael Williamson.

Police said the bottle exploded before they arrived, but nobody was injured. Police are not sure who was behind the incident, but they said it could be classified as a hate crime.
