(KMOV.com) -- Charges have been issued for a 25-year-old man who is accused of shooting his friend and leaving him to die in a St. Louis County street on Sunday.
Authorities charged Cameron Reed, 25, with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Police say Reed and the victim, ONeal Stafford, 25, reportedly became involved in a heated argument at the intersection of Winkler and Chambers around 3 a.m. on Sunday. The argument escalated and Reed allegedly opened fire.
Officers responded to the scene to find Stafford lying in the street suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed Reed and Stafford were alleged friends prior to the shooting.
Reed was arrested on Monday and later confessed to his involvement in the crime to detectives.
Bond for Reed was set at $250,000 cash-only.
