(KMOV.com) – Police said they arrested 47 drug dealers and others involved with drugs in a sweep in Phelps County Tuesday morning.
Officers ventured out before the sun came up, in an effort to catch those accused of distributing drugs off guard. Police told News 4 many of those who were arrested committed crimes more than two years ago, but authorities waited until Tuesday to arrest them.
Police said they were only searching for people who distributed drugs, but in the process they found something else.
“We arrested some subjects today and while we were there, we located an indoor marijuana grow,” said Phelps Count Sheriff Richard Lisenbe.
Lisenbe estimated 10 pounds of marijuana worth $10,000 were seized. Police told News 4 most of those arrested were accused of manufacturing methamphetamine and heroin.
Authorities said everyone arrested will face felony charges.
