(KMOV.com) – St. Louis officials told News 4 an alderman’s wife was not injured after an attempted carjacking Thursday afternoon.

Officials told News 4 the wife of Ward 12 Alderman Larry Arnowitz was in her car at stop sign near the intersection of Primm Street and south Broadway when three men with guns opened the car door and told her and a man in the passenger’s seat to get out of the car.

Police said Philomena then sped away. Police are searching for the suspects.

Philomena told News 4 she wants Mayor Slay to put more police on the street and and get tougher on crime. Larry said there are other solutions that can reduce crime.

Even though there were no injuries, Philomena said she is emotionally shaken.
