ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police are searching for four suspects who stole several items after crashing their vehicle into a northwest St. Louis convenience store early Tuesday morning.

According to police, a witness saw four suspects tampering with surveillance cameras in front of Moe’s Market in the 2400 block of N. Union around 3:30 a.m.

Police said the suspects then rammed a Jeep Grand Cherokee into the store’s front glass door. They went into the store and stole several cell phones and packs of cigarettes.

Police said officers responded to the scene and pursued the Jeep as it was fleeing the scene. The vehicle then crashed during the chase and the suspects got away.

Inside the SUV, officers found the stolen merchandise believed taken from the convenience store.

Police are investigating whether the suspects were also involved in smash-and-grab thefts at Subway restaurants in University City and Olivette over the past couple days.
