SULLIVAN, Mo. – A Sullivan, Missouri man was arrested and charged after police said he struck his pregnant girlfriend with his car.

According to a news release Tuesday, Sullivan police arrested David Lee Bullock, 21, on Monday night.

Police said Bullock had been fighting with his 21-year-old girlfriend earlier in the evening.  The woman was reportedly speaking with her mother outside the Super 8 Motel at 601 North Service Road West when they reportedly saw Bullock drive his silver Mercury Cougar at a high rate of speed towards them.

The victim’s mother was able to jump out of the way, but Bullock’s girlfriend, who is 4 months pregnant, was struck by the car.  The woman was thrown into the air, over the top of the car and eventually landed on the pavement.  A witness told police Bullock put the car in reverse and tried to strike the woman’s mother, but was unsuccessful.  He then reportedly got out of the car with a baseball bat, made threats and then returned to his car.

The victim was flown to Barnes Hospital via medical helicopter with serious injuries.

David Lee Bullock was arrested at the scene. He’s facing charges of Domestic Assault in the First Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Assault in the Third Degree, Driving a motor vehicle while revoked, and Failing to register a motor vehicle.
