(KMOV.com) – A St. Charles County man is facing charges after he allegedly kicked his wife, son and police officers.

Jeffrey Constantinou has been charged with felony assault and child endangerment.

Police said Constantinou was drunk when he kicked his wife as she held their 18-month-old son.

“Once she was on the ground the female was still struggling she tried to get away as he kicked her and in doing so kicked his son in the head,” Lieutenant David Tiffenbrunn of the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police said he was also combative with police when they arrived to try apprehend him.

“He became combative and continually kicked the officer as he was trying to place him in the vehicle,” Tiffenbrunn said.

Police said the mother will not be charged with child endangerment even though her three children were around Constantinou after he was out of jail on bond for a similar charge.

“She will not be facing charges it wasn't her choice. He posted bond we can only keep him in custody so long. She just didn't have the means or resources to escape the situation so we're working closely with her this time,” Tiffenbrunn said.

Constantinou is currently sitting in jail on $50,000 bond.
