SHILOH, Illinois (KMOV) -- A woman was arrested after she allegedly struck an officer in the face during a traffic stop in Shiloh, Illinois on Sunday.

Shannon Stelling was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, a felony.

According to police, officers spotted a motorcycle speeding on Lebanon Avenue and pulled the bike over in the 3200 block of Hunters Way.

The driver of the motorcycle, Scott Stelling, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Stelling posted bond and was released from custody pending his trial date.

Police said the passenger, Shannon Stelling, began arguing with officers at the scene and struck one of them in the face. She was taken into custody and charged on Monday.

She has since posted her $20,000 bond and was released awaiting her trial date.
