ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – St. Louis County police are warning the public about a rapist they say is targeting Asian women in northwest part of the county.

Police say the latest attack occurred on Sept. 9 when an 18-year-old woman was home from a friend’s house in Maryland Heights. She told police the suspect sexually assaulted her near the intersection of Bennington Place and Fee Fee Road, not far from Parkway North High School.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The first incident happened in April, 2011 when a 27-year-old woman was attacked in an apartment along the 10300 block of Sannois.

Police say DNA from both cases match.

They are also looking at other possible connections to similar rapes in New York, Maryland and San Diego.

Police describe the suspect as a short, heavy set Hispanic male who’s about 45 years old. He’s about 5-foot-6 and weighs around 200 pounds.

Authorities said they will be checking DNA databases for more clues and leads.
