ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – St. Louis Police said they stopped a man from bringing a loaded gun into a St. Louis court building.

The incident occurred Tuesday at the Civil Rights Court Building in downtown St. Louis.

Police said Dontel Jenkins, 21, had a loaded handgun concealed in his backpack, which was discovered as the bag went through an X-ray machine. Jenkins allegedly told the officers that he had a court appearance, but he could not be found on any docket.
