Police said Brownell failed multiple field sobriety tests, but her blood was later drawn at the Lincoln County Medical Center. Authorities said the test showed her blood alcohol content was .159 percent, almost twice the legal limit.

One child inside the car was Brownell’s; the other three were her nieces and nephews. The ages of children are 1, 5, and two are 7-years-old. Authorities said one of the 7-year-old’s complained of abdominal pain and was given medical attention by a family member.

Brownell was later released from custody after posting part of her $15,000 bond.
