Police: Alleged robber pretends to join adult swimming class, ruse doesn’t work

According to investigators, 20-year-old Billy Ray Huff tried to grab a donation jar outside a Walmart store and joined an adult swimming class in an attempt to avoid being arrested.

Folsom, CA (KTXL) -- Folsom, CA. Police say an alleged thief tried to hide from officers by joining an adult swimming class, but lifeguards quickly caught on.


According to investigators, 20-year-old Billy Ray Huff tried to grab a donation jar outside a Walmart store at Riley Street and Glenn Drive.

When he dropped the jar, police say Huff ran across the street and hid outside the Folsom Aquatic Center before stripping down to his underwear and hopping the gate to join an adult swimming class.

Aquatic Center staff quickly called the police and Huff was soon arrested.
