COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV) – Police are asking for the public's help in finding three men who allegedly robbed an elderly woman in Collinsville on Friday morning.

Police said the victim was leaving a Rural King in the 9500 block of Collinsville Road when the suspects approached her.

Two of the men shoved the woman down, according to police, then grabbed her purse and drove off.

Witnesses gave officers a detailed description of the suspects' car, including the license plate number. Authorities say the vehicle is a beige 2000 Chrysler Concorde with Illinois license plate number 873-2921.

Surveillance video shows the robbers getting out of a car and pulling hoods up over their heads.

"Two of them got out and pushed her down, then took her purse and her cell phone," Rural King Manager Rhonda Divine said.

In a matter of seconds, footage shows two guys running back to the car carrying the victim's purse.

"It's just sad," Divine said.  "I'm sure that woman probably didn't have $20 in her purse.  She came here to buy birdseed for her birds."

Collinsville police say the suspect vehicle was reported stolen in East St. Louis.

The woman was not seriously injured in the incident.
