(KMOV.com) – A St. James man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Monday for attacking an O’Fallon, Missouri police officer after striking a woman with a medieval-style weapon in April 2012.
Scott Davis, Jr. attacked a woman with a medieval-style club and attacked a police officer in the 7900 block of Oakbark Court. According to Davis’ dad, who notified police of the initial incident, his son and two others had been using LSD.
Prior to the officer’s arrival, Davis assaulted a female victim with a club which caused severe bleeding and a broken jaw.
According to police, the then-21-year-old was discovered by an officer naked in the middle of the street. He then told officers his name was “Lucifer” before he knocked the officer to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the head and face. Davis then choked the officer as he managed to get up and grabbed the pistol from his holster.
As the two men struggled, Davis attempted to bite the officer’s ear, but instead bit him in the face. He also grabbed the handle of the officer’s Taser and hit him with it. The officer managed to use the Taser on Davis, but it had no effect on the suspect.
The struggle continued before the officer shot Davis in the arm and leg.
