ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo (KMOV.com) – St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department is working with Farmington police in response to a shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 3:00 p.m., a 39-year-old Farmington resident was shot at least once on the left side of his upper torso and back. The incident occurred in the area of Bray Road in the 4100 block of Missouri Route 221, just west of the Farmington city limits.

The victim drove himself to a gas station nearby to ask for help. He was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for treatment, though his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

One suspect, 37, has been taken in to custody. Another, 59, fled the scene and authorities are still searching for him.

He is described as a white male, short and thin, last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt. If he is spotted, police caution citizens not to approach him, but contact 573-431-3131, 573-756-6686 or 911.
